Education Secretary Sonny Angara asked the public to participate in Brigada Eskwela. The five-day activity starts on June 1 and runs until June 5. Schools open for classes on June 8.
Angara said school personnel must not solicit contributions. The focus is on voluntary work. He stated, “Let’s support our students, teachers and schools as they prepare for the new school year. Through simple help and solidarity, we can demonstrate the true spirit of solidarity and community care.”
The Department of Education will hold the national kick-off on May 29 in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. All regions will hold their kick-offs on June 1. DepEd Memorandum 027 from May 5 guides the event.
