Benishangul Gumuz prepares soil fertilizers on time for sowing farmers

The Benishangul Gumuz regional agriculture bureau states that soil fertilizers are being prepared on time for farmers' sowing season. Director Tesfaye Beqele told Fana Digital that necessary agricultural inputs must reach farmers in proper condition for the production season.

In Ethiopia's Benishangul Gumuz region, soil fertilizers are being prepared on schedule for farmers ahead of the sowing season, according to the regional agriculture bureau. The effort aims to avoid disruptions in the agricultural input supply chain.

A total of 131,000 quintals of soil fertilizer was allocated for sowing, with 98,000 quintals already delivered to the region. To date, more than 10,000 quintals have been distributed across all areas of the region.

Preparations are also underway to produce over 9,400 quintals of improved seeds for the production season. Officials have been urged to ensure that both fertilizers and seeds reach farmers in adequate condition.
