Blue Jays sign 2026 Draft pick Cole Carlon

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with their top selection in the 2026 MLB Draft, left-handed pitcher Cole Carlon.

The team reached a $2.4 million signing bonus with the Arizona State product, selected 39th overall. The amount sits just below the slot value of $2,571,700 for that pick.

Director of amateur scouting Marc Tramuta highlighted Carlon’s fastball and slider combination. “He’s got two October pitches,” Tramuta said, noting the pitcher’s 6-foot-5 frame and delivery athleticism.

Carlon posted 133 strikeouts in 83 2/3 innings during the 2026 college season. The Blue Jays plan limited innings this summer, with possible shutdown and development work in Dunedin, Florida.

The signing fits within Toronto’s constrained bonus pool after a 10-pick penalty for exceeding the Competitive Balance Tax threshold.
