Bosch to pay 36 million dollar fine for Huawei deliveries

Bosch has agreed to pay 36 million dollars to the US after two subsidiaries delivered sensors and software to Huawei.

The US Commerce Department announced on Wednesday that two foreign Bosch subsidiaries delivered products worth over 70 million dollars in more than 100 cases between 2020 and 2024 without the required license to the blacklisted Chinese firm.

The violations were unintentional, Bosch said. The US Justice Department ended its investigations after the company self-disclosed the misconduct. Deputy Attorney General John A. Eisenberg highlighted the benefits of prompt reporting.

Bosch also agreed to surrender profits from the deals and to overhaul its compliance program. The group reported revenue of around 90 billion dollars in 2024.
