Brandon Woodruff makes second rehab start for High-A Wisconsin

Brandon Woodruff pitched into the sixth inning during a rehab start for High-A Wisconsin on Tuesday. The Milwaukee Brewers right-hander threw 82 pitches over 5 1/3 innings in Davenport, Iowa.

Woodruff allowed three runs on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Two of the runs came in the fifth inning on a groundout and sacrifice fly, while another run scored on a second-inning home run by Ramon Ramirez.

The outing marked Woodruff's second formal rehab start since he left an April 30 game with diminished velocity. He underwent a minor procedure to drain a cyst in his right shoulder following that appearance.

Woodruff returned to the Brewers on Wednesday. Manager Pat Murphy said the pitcher will rejoin the rotation soon, with a possible start lined up against the Reds in Cincinnati next week.
