Commission provides training for dialogue rapporteurs

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission is providing training for rapporteurs. The program includes participants drawn from 11 regions and two city administrations. More than 180 rapporteurs attended the awareness session.

The commission stressed the critical role of rapporteurs. Their duties include recording discussion points, opinions and recommendations, as well as identifying decision proposals and consensus points.

Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya highlighted the wide and massive nature of the process and said rapporteurs have a big contribution. He noted that high professional responsibility is required to record discussion outcomes accurately and impartially.

The session covered handling of dialogue minutes, document preparation, information quality and ethics. Participants were selected from universities, courts, civic associations and through individual representation.
