Ethiopia launches national dialogue conference

Ethiopia officially launched its national dialogue conference yesterday in Addis Ababa. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed delivered a speech at the opening.

The three-week conference brings together more than 4,000 participants from over 1,195 woredas. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that resolving differences through dialogue plays a significant role in safeguarding the country's interests.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo attended the event and shared his experience in leading peace talks. He noted that in civil war there are no winners or losers.

African Union Commissioner Bankole Adeoye and IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu said the dialogue sets an example for Africa. National Dialogue Commissioner Yonas Adaye stated that the process will build a lasting culture of peace.
