Gérald Darmanin has indicated he does not plan to rally too soon to Édouard Philippe for the 2027 presidential election. The justice minister intends to raise the stakes to promote his social Gaullist line.
On Wednesday on France Inter, Gérald Darmanin regretted that his social line is taken up « nowhere ». « There are many candidates and few ideas. It is a bit worrying », he said.
The minister remains disappointed that Édouard Philippe torpedoed his primary idea, which slows his personal ambitions. He is therefore making himself desired by his « friend » from Horizons while worrying about the lack of relay for his positions.
On Monday, Darmanin will travel to Algiers at the request of the president of the Republic. There he will plead for better judicial cooperation and for the release of journalist Christophe Gleizes.
