The Delhi government aims to plant 70 lakh saplings under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam - Delhi Mega Plantation Drive 2026, which will be launched on June 22. The Chief Minister’s Office stated that the effort will encourage public participation through the e-Forest Green Drive Portal. People can register using their mobile number, name and address to receive a free sapling and an e-certificate after uploading a geo-tagged photo.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said Vriksh Raths will deliver saplings to various locations and provide guidance. Participants will be recognised as Paryavaran Rakshak and receive certificates, T-shirts and caps. Each sapling will be recorded on a digital green map.

The campaign has three phases. The first is a digital launch on June 22. The second phase, a Mega Ridge Plantation Campaign, is scheduled for the first week of July. The third phase in mid-July will feature a central event at Swarna Jayanti Park in Rohini with simultaneous planting at 51 locations. Participation by Home Minister Amit Shah has been proposed.
