Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty’s visit to Muscat marked the third stop on his regional tour to coordinate Arab positions and bolster diplomatic efforts to de-escalate Middle East tensions. In his meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Abdelatty conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Oman in confronting security challenges and what he described as unjustified attacks. He stressed that Oman’s and the Gulf’s security is integral to Egypt’s national security, praised the Sultan’s mediation role and commitment to regional stability, and called for serious Arab dialogue on post-war security arrangements to prevent further instability. The Sultan reciprocated by asking Abdelatty to pass on his greetings to Al-Sisi, expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support of Gulf and Arab security, and highlighted strong bilateral ties along with the contributions of Egyptian companies to Omani development projects. Abdelatty also met Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, where they discussed ending the war, coordinating Arab responses to regional challenges, condemned military attacks on Arab countries, and urged an immediate halt to hostilities while upholding international law and the UN Charter. Both sides emphasized Arab coordination and intensified diplomacy to contain tensions.
