TV host and actress Ernestina Pais died on Friday when the car she was driving was struck by a Tren de la Costa train in Martínez.
The accident occurred at the railway crossing of Sáenz Peña and El Cano streets. Pais, 54, was driving a black Honda Civic and crossed with the barrier down.
The vehicle was hit on the driver's side. Pais was the sole occupant and died at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances through the UFI de Martínez. Pais was heading to a performance of the play she starred in.
Director José María Muscari expressed his devastation over the host's death.
