Regarding Ivonne Montero, Estay recounted meeting her shortly after she finished her role as Rosa in the movie El tigre de Santa Julia. The encounter happened casually while he was running in Bosque de Tlalpan in Mexico City. "Suddenly there were trendy places: little bars, restaurants, or inaugurations of things," he explained about the pre-social media era, though his connection with Montero was more spontaneous. "I'm friendly, not handsome. And that friendliness, making a woman laugh," he said about how the relationship started. He now describes her as "very pretty, she's a very good friend of mine."
On Betty Monroe, Estay mentioned a short romance during a TV program collaboration with Ninel Conde and Ana La Salvia. At the time, Ana was dating Pavel Pardo, Ninel with Duilio Davino, and he with Monroe. "They're forcing me, I don't like talking about that kind of thing," he said reluctantly.
