Mexico's Fiscalía General de la República cited ten people this Saturday, including Sinaloa's governor on leave Rubén Rocha Moya, to appear before the Ministerio Público in connection with accusations from the United States.
The FGR stated that the citations aim to advance the investigation stemming from the accusation filed before the Southern District of New York Court. The individuals named will give statements at the Ministerio Público de la Federación.
The case involves allegations of organized crime links against Rocha Moya and other current or former Sinaloa officials, such as senator Enrique Inzunza. The federal government rejects extradition, noting that the United States has not presented evidence for urgent detention.
Separately, Chihuahua governor Maru Campos was cited as a witness for next Wednesday, May 27, at 10:00 a.m. in a different case tied to an operation against a narco-laboratory.
