Foo Fighters completed two sold-out shows at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool over the weekend, with onstage appearances by two fans who had personal connections to the band.
The US rock band played its only scheduled UK dates of 2026 at the venue, starting on Thursday June 25. During the first concert, frontman Dave Grohl invited a young man named Max onstage after he appeared to solve a Rubik's Cube. Max performed the song Rope on drums before Grohl revealed that the 18-year-old was his daughter Harper’s boyfriend, prompting the crowd to sing Happy Birthday.
On the Saturday show, a 31-year-old Spanish fan named Marc, dressed as a giant pack of Mentos in reference to the band’s video for Big Me, was also brought onstage to sing with the group from the B-stage. Grohl told the audience afterward, “When shit like this happens, that means this is the night of our lives, so thank you.”
Marc, who plays in a Foo Fighters tribute band, later said the moment fulfilled a personal dream. The band also watched a performance of Times Like These by local primary school children before one of the shows. Its 2026 European tour continues in Berlin, Vienna and at several festivals.
