Ayao Komatsu, Haas Formula 1 team principal, has stated that the challenges of overtaking at the Monaco Grand Prix should be accepted as part of the event's unique character. He argued that upcoming 2026 regulations will not change the nature of racing on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo.
Komatsu spoke during an appearance on the Essential F1 podcast. He noted that overtaking remains difficult at other venues too, including Suzuka and Miami. The team principal suggested focusing on what makes Monaco distinct rather than attempting to alter its Sunday race format.
