Honda will introduce an updated power unit on Aston Martin's Formula 1 car at the Dutch Grand Prix. Trackside general manager Shintaro Orihara confirmed the timeline during the team's Belgian Grand Prix preview.
Orihara stated there would be two more races before the upgrade. "We have two more races before we introduce the new engine," he said. The change comes under the ADUO rules after Honda's power unit was identified as the weakest on the grid.
The update is set for Zandvoort following the summer break. Orihara noted the importance of learning from the current spec ahead of races like Monza. Aston Martin has struggled this season, with only Fernando Alonso scoring a point in Monaco.
The team is expected to continue focusing on its 2027 car due to budget constraints. Orihara also discussed challenges at Spa, including energy management and potential wet weather.
