Secondary Six students across Hong Kong received their Diploma of Secondary Education results on Wednesday. A total of 24 top scorers from 15 schools achieved perfect scores.

Secondary Six students across Hong Kong returned to their schools on Wednesday to collect result slips for the Diploma of Secondary Education. The exams grade most subjects on a seven-level scale from 1 to 5**.

This year 56,853 candidates sat the exams, an increase of about 5 per cent from 53,895 last year. Of these, 46,106 were school candidates and 10,747 were private candidates. Biology, Chemistry and Economics attracted the highest numbers among elective subjects.

A total of 24 top scorers from 15 schools recorded perfect scores of 5** in six subjects plus an attained result in Citizenship and Social Development. Fourteen were male and 10 female, with 11 also achieving 5** in the Extended Mathematics module. The schools include St Paul’s Co-educational College, King’s College and Queen’s College.
