Örnsköldsvik's Modo Hockey was blanked 2-0 by BIK Karlskoga in the third game of their HockeyAllsvenskan semifinal series, played at home on Easter Sunday. This marked the first time this postseason that Tyler Kelleher, Modo's leading scorer with 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in nine playoff games, failed to register a point. The loss puts Modo down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, forcing them to win the next game to stave off a potential 3-1 deficit for their opponents. Kelleher remained composed after the defeat, telling Örnsköldsviks Allehanda that there is no need for drastic changes. “We don't need to change everything and I think everyone can step up a bit,” he said. He added, “It's not the end of the world – there's no panic. Karlskoga is playing well, but I think we are too.” The American forward, who has experience promoting teams to the SHL, including Djurgården and Brynäs in recent seasons and HV71 in 2022, emphasized continuing their approach while making tweaks. “We can make some adjustments in the offensive zone... We need to surprise them a bit,” Kelleher noted, acknowledging Karlskoga's coaching adjustments during games and the series. A Modo loss in Tuesday's Game 4 would give BIK Karlskoga a chance to close out the series at home in Nobelhallen with a match point opportunity.
