King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have shared the title track from their upcoming EDM album Alien Metal. The release follows their previous single Level 5 from last month.
The Australian band unveiled the track as the latest preview of their 28th studio album, which is due later this summer on P(doom) Records. The album was created using a modular synth rig nicknamed Nathan that the group uses in live performances.
Stu Mackenzie described the impact of the equipment. "It completely rewired my brain," he said. "I was like, 'I'm going to forget everything I know about music and relearn it all from scratch.'"
The group is scheduled to perform a three-night stand at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium in August, followed by a Rave Show at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn. They have also announced an Australian tour with dates in Thirroul, Sydney and Melbourne set for October.
