Kristdemokraterna's Ebba Busch has sparked anger within Moderaterna with statements on collaboration with Socialdemokraterna. M leader Christian Sonesson describes her counterattack as silly and a headache for the Tidö cooperation. SD leader Jimmie Åkesson notes that Moderaterna have gone hard at Busch ahead of the Tidö meeting.
The conflict within the Tidö parties flared up after Ebba Busch's interview in Svenska Dagbladet, where she opened for collaboration with Socialdemokraterna on individual issues. Christian Sonesson (M), chairman of the municipal executive board in Staffanstorp, expected clarification from Busch but received counterattacks instead. "It's silly. Instead of apologizing for being unclear, one complains about the counterpart receiving the message," says Sonesson.
Sonesson criticizes Busch for vagueness about which bloc she belongs to, especially against the backdrop of the deadlock between Sverigedemokraterna and Liberalerna that has already damaged Tidö cooperation. "It's unfortunate that she is unclear about which alternative and which bloc side she belongs to," he emphasizes. He describes her statements as a "headache" creating unnecessary uncertainty within the alliance.
Busch defended herself on her way into the party leaders' debate in the Riksdag on Wednesday morning. "Talking badly about us in background talks with media, sending out moderate representatives and thus splitting and creating uncertainty about where one has KD. It's a way of acting that I refuse to subordinate myself to," she said. Busch stressed that Kristdemokraterna is the "guarantor for a right-wing government".
Sonesson hopes for clarity from Busch ahead of Ulf Kristersson's invitation to the four Tidö leaders. SD leader Jimmie Åkesson commented that Moderaterna have "gone hard at" Busch's statement. On Thursday, the Tidö leaders are to have lunch together. "We'll see if there will be a fight or happy faces," says Åkesson.
