Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang held a samgyeopsal dinner in Seoul on June 5 with South Korean business leaders including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won.
Huang joined LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin at a Hongdae restaurant. They ate grilled pork belly with a soju-beer mix known as sam-so. Hundreds of onlookers and journalists gathered outside. He said, “My gift? I brought four new businesses to Korea,” naming the Vera Rubin AI platform, Vera CPU, RTX Spark laptop and Jetson Thor robot supercomputer. He also noted that Nvidia is building a research center in Korea and hiring AI and robotics engineers. Before the dinner, Huang visited an internet cafe and met esports star Faker. “This is the birthplace of esports,” he said. Huang is scheduled to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Doosan Bears baseball game on Sunday.
