Redhawks win fourth straight against Brynäs

Malmö Redhawks secured their fourth consecutive win in the SHL by defeating Brynäs 3–2 on Thursday evening. Goalkeeper Oskar Blomgren delivered a strong performance despite facing 43 shots. Coach Tomas Kollar was pleased with the team's control in the final two periods.

Malmö Redhawks are in fine form and notched their fourth straight win after a tough away game against Brynäs. The final score was 3–2, a victory that came in a close contest where the home team pressed hard in the closing minutes.

The game started with Brynäs taking the lead in the first period via Lauri Pajuniemi's hard shot. In the middle period, Redhawks' Jack Kopacka tied it on a breakaway, followed by defenseman Topi Niemeläs goal that turned the match. Robin Hanzl extended to 3–1, but Brynäs pulled one back late from a deflected shot during powerplay.

"If we disregard the first period, I think we came out quite well in the second. Same in the third, I think we had good control of things. We make it 3–1 and play in a calm and stable way," says coach Tomas Kollar.

In goal for Redhawks was 21-year-old Oskar Blomgren, returning after three games on the bench. He allowed two goals on 43 shots and described the match as intense.

"There was a lot to do and it was fun that we won," says Blomgren. "It's maybe not the most beautiful match I've played."

Blomgren replaced Marek Langhamer, who had kept clean sheets in the last two games with only one goal conceded total. After the win, Blomgren treated fans to a somersault, laughing that he's better at it than his colleague.

"It becomes a real onslaught from Brynäs. We have to defend in both penalty kill and at the end. It's an even match and we're really pleased with three points," adds Kollar.
