Labor Minister Antonio Sanguino rejected an alert sent to the Procuraduría regarding the possible formation of a union in the Agriculture Ministry.
Indalecio Dangond Baquero, an agro sector analyst and businessman close to President-elect Abelardo De La Espriella, alerted the Procuraduría General de la Nación about the promotion of a union involving permanent staff and contractors at the Agriculture Ministry.
Dangond requested an immediate investigation and disciplinary sanctions against Minister Martha Carvajalino. Sanguino responded on social media X, describing the message as serious and anti-union.
The minister recalled that forming a union is a human right protected by Article 39 of the Constitution and ILO Convention 87. He stated that unionism is not a crime but labor democracy.
