Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will meet in the Wimbledon men's singles semifinal on Friday. The match comes six months after Djokovic defeated Sinner in the Australian Open final.
Sinner spoke after his quarterfinal win about facing the 24-time Grand Slam champion again. He noted that every match against Djokovic tells its own story and that grass courts make serving and ball feel critical.
Djokovic, after his longest Wimbledon quarterfinal in history, said he had already beaten Sinner at a Grand Slam this year and aimed to repeat the result at SW19. He highlighted his ability to compete with much younger players on the biggest stages.
The semifinal is expected to receive an early Centre Court start under potentially hot conditions in London. Sinner is the defending champion and has not dropped a set since the first round, while Djokovic has played more than 17 hours of tennis so far.
Both players expressed confidence ahead of the encounter, with Sinner happy to be back in the semifinals and Djokovic drawing belief from his Melbourne victory.
