Updating earlier forecasts, the Hong Kong Observatory now predicts minimum temperatures as low as 14°C on Sunday morning amid the ongoing cold front, with cool conditions persisting until midweek.
The cold front, first forecast to impact Hong Kong from Saturday, has led to strengthened northerly winds and patches of rain. Temperatures dipped further than initially expected, reaching around 14°C in urban areas Sunday morning—lower than the previously forecasted 15°C—and even colder in parts of the New Territories.
The northeast monsoon will continue affecting southern China's coast, maintaining cooler weather through midweek. The Observatory advises the public to stay warm, especially the elderly and those with chronic conditions, and remain aware of significant day-night temperature differences.
