Universal Music Group and Spotify have announced a partnership to develop an AI tool allowing fans to create covers and remixes of songs from participating artists.
The paid add-on service for Spotify Premium subscribers will let users generate variations on tracks by artists who opt in. Revenue from the tool will be shared with those artists and songwriters, according to the companies. A launch date has not been set yet.
