Congressman Gregory Meeks has strongly opposed President Donald Trump's plan to establish an Ebola treatment center in Kenya.
Congressman Gregory Meeks, a senior Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the US government has specialized facilities to handle Ebola patients safely. He argued that the Trump administration should bring its citizens home instead of shifting the responsibility to Kenya. Meeks blamed the administration for cutting health funding and withdrawing from the WHO. Reports indicate US officials have arrived at Laikipia Air Force Base. Professor Kefa Otiso said the center would not increase Ebola risks in Kenya.
