350 students in Björklinge continue to be bussed from moldy school

Around 350 students from Björklinge school were evacuated in late 2025 and early 2026 due to moisture and mold in school buildings. The plan for local modules after the summer break has been delayed until the autumn break at earliest. Parents express concern over the children's temporary facilities.

The students were initially bussed to modules at Gränbyfältet behind IFU Arena in Uppsala. Uppsala municipality initially announced that local modules would be in place in Björklinge after the 2026 summer break.

The municipality has now stated that the modules will arrive at the earliest for the autumn break. Parent Mikaela, with a child at Björklinge school, says: "As a parent, I feel worried about where the children will be." She describes the situation as unsafe.

The municipality declined an interview, referring to ongoing processes. In a written comment, they state they are "investigating alternatives to evacuate the remaining operations as close as possible to the current school".

Moisture and mold were first found in one building and later in another, leading to the emergency evacuation decision.
