The Afar regional council has begun its 9th regular session in Semera town. Chief administrator Awel Arba presented reports on key developments in growth, social, economic, peace, and security over the past six months. The session will review work reports and performance evaluations.

Addis Ababa, Tir 30, 2018 (Fana) – The Afar Regional Government Council has started its 9th regular session in Semera town. This session is part of the third council's fifth working term.

Chief administrator Awel Arba opened the proceedings by reporting to council members on major developments in the region over the past six months, covering growth, social and economic issues, as well as peace and security challenges. The session includes extensive discussions on the presented work reports and six-month performance evaluations.

Council members will engage in necessary deliberations and provide feedback on the documents before approving the reports. The session is scheduled to continue until Katit 2, 2018 E.C. It is expected that members will address two urgent issues during two breaks.

This gathering plays a key role in assessing and improving the region's work progress.
