Three regions inaugurate joint peace and development coordination office

Leaders from Oromia, Benishangul Gumuz and Gambella regions inaugurated a joint peace and development coordination office building in Assosa city. The move aims to strengthen cooperation among the three regions.

Leaders from the three regions attended the inauguration ceremony in Assosa. They included Benishangul Gumuz regional president Ashadli Hassan, Oromia regional president Shimelis Abdisa and Gambella deputy regional president Gatluak Ron.

Ashadli Hassan said the joint peace and development work carried out by the three regions has strengthened cooperation between them. He added that the construction of the building demonstrates ongoing efforts toward shared prosperity.

Shimelis Abdisa noted that infrastructure and peace projects implemented since the joint council was formed have laid a solid foundation for social and economic ties. Gatluak Ron highlighted that the office has delivered services benefiting local communities beyond strengthening people-to-people relations.

The four-story building cost 300 million birr to construct.
