Ethiopia and Somalia leaders held talks on bilateral and regional issues. Their cooperation contributes to peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud discussed economic ties, peace and security, as well as regional stability.

The two countries are close neighbors that share borders, language, culture, religion and traditions. They have recorded success in joint efforts to counter terrorist forces including Al-Shabaab.

In his message today the prime minister noted that the relationship between the two countries encompasses their peoples and their future destination.
