Apple is reportedly overhauling the design of its baseline 14-inch MacBook Pro in the first half of 2027. The changes will align the entry-level model with higher-end laptops expected later this year. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman cited sources familiar with the plans.
The refresh forms part of a broader spring 2027 lineup that may also include new iPad Pro models in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes focused on performance gains. Sources indicated Apple is testing four such tablets while retaining current dimensions.
Gurman noted the updated MacBook Pro will match the appearance of premium machines that could debut in the fall, potentially including the company's first touchscreen MacBook. That model had previously been linked to the M6 generation.
The report adds that spring 2027 is also expected to bring the base iPhone 18, an update to the iPhone Air, and possibly devices with M7 silicon. Spring has become a key period for Apple's entry-level and budget product announcements.
