Avengers: Doomsday confirmed as fifth Avengers film, launching MCU Phase 6

Building on Marvel's December 2025 announcement event, Avengers: Doomsday is confirmed as the fifth installment in the MCU's Avengers series and the start of Phase 6. An ensemble of new and returning heroes will battle Victor von Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.

Avengers: Doomsday continues the Avengers storyline under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, produced by the Russos and Kevin Feige. It features a massive cast highlighted in the initial reveal—including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and others like Sam Wilson/Captain America, Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Bucky Barnes, Shuri, Ant-Man/Scott Lang, Namor, Shang-Chi, Charles Xavier, Magneto, and more Fantastic Four and X-Men members.

Positioned after Phase Five's events and leading toward Avengers: Secret Wars, the film expands the Multiverse Saga with multiverse elements. Currently in development toward its December 2026 release, further teasers and details are anticipated.
