Blake Lively voiced gratitude for U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman's ruling dismissing most claims in her lawsuit against 'It Ends With Us' co-star Justin Baldoni and others, while allowing retaliation, aiding and abetting retaliation, and breach of contract claims to proceed to a jury trial on May 18 in New York City. She shared her reaction on Instagram Stories on April 3 amid ongoing public scrutiny.
On Friday, April 3, 2026, Blake Lively posted on her Instagram Stories in response to Judge Liman's 162-page opinion issued the previous day, which dismissed 10 of her 13 claims—including sexual harassment and defamation—but advanced the remaining three to trial.
"I'm grateful for the Court's ruling which allows the heart of my case to be presented to a jury next month, and for the ability to finally tell my story in full at trial," Lively wrote, also expressing support for victims who lack a platform to speak.
The lawsuit, filed in late 2024, stems from alleged retaliation during production of the film 'It Ends With Us.' Lively has claimed she faced 'pervasive retaliation' after advocating for a safe set environment. She criticized online narratives as a 'digital soap opera' distracting from 'real abuse,' stating, "The physical pain from digital violence is very real. It is abuse."
"The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I brought this case because of the pervasive RETALIATION I faced," she added, vowing to continue exposing systems that "harm, shame, silence and retaliate against victims." She thanked supporters for their encouragement.
With the New York trial approaching, the case continues to draw attention.
