BPJPH emphasizes UMK assistance crucial ahead of mandatory halal 2026

BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan stressed the importance of assisting micro and small enterprises (UMK) ahead of the mandatory halal regulation implementation in October 2026. He noted that many UMK lack halal certification, requiring synergy from LP3H and P3H. A National Coordination Meeting for LP3H was held to strengthen their role.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan stated that assistance for micro and small enterprises (UMK) by stakeholders is crucial ahead of the mandatory halal regulation in October 2026.

In his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, Haikal highlighted that many UMK still lack halal certification. Therefore, coordinated and sustainable cooperation is needed, particularly through the Halal Product Process Assistance Institution (LP3H) and Halal Product Process Assistants (P3H).

“The success of mandatory halal is greatly determined by our collective synergy and performance. LP3H and P3H are the frontline guardians for assisting micro and small enterprises, so their role must be increasingly strong and effective,” said Haikal.

He viewed LP3H not only as administrative assistants but as strategic government partners in building halal compliance at the grassroots level. “Therefore, improving the quality of performance, procedural discipline, and unified steps across all LP3H is an absolute necessity,” he added.

BPJPH will continue to strengthen LP3H sustainably through its deputy offices, Halal Product Assurance Offices (Balai PJPH), and Regional Halal Product Assurance Centers (Loka PJPH) in various areas. “We want LP3H to become more professional, solid, and effective. With strong performance and well-established synergy, halal certification assistance can proceed faster, more accurately, and evenly,” Haikal explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Coaching and Supervision of JPH EA Chuzaemi Abidin mentioned that the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) for LP3H was held in early February 2026. The meeting was attended by 309 LP3H from across Indonesia and serves as a strategic momentum to enhance synergy and accelerate halal certification for UMK.

“This Rakornas is a strategic forum to unify steps, improve assistance performance, and ensure all LP3H move with the same vision in supporting the acceleration of UMK halal certification,” said Chuzaemi.
