Casting calls reveal details for Hideo Kojima's Physint

New casting details for Hideo Kojima's upcoming espionage game Physint have surfaced, indicating progress toward production. The calls seek actors for roles on a hijacked bus, including a villain inspired by Mads Mikkelsen. Previously announced cast members include Don Lee, Charlee Fraser, and Minami Hamabe.

Hideo Kojima's Kojima Productions is advancing work on Physint, an espionage title set for release on PlayStation by Sony. According to details reported by MP1st and covered by Eurogamer, casting calls under the project's codename 'Shimmer' describe a villain as 'Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal but with flair' and 'confident in a psychotic way.' Mads Mikkelsen previously collaborated with Kojima on Death Stranding, but this role calls for a different actor with a German accent among the antagonistic passengers on a hijacked bus. Pivot Motion's Mari Ueda, who worked on Death Stranding 2, is directing the casting. Other roles include a mother with her newborn baby, five teenagers of different ethnicities, and two male passengers. Kojima had been developing Physint solo last summer, but these calls signal a shift toward full production later this year. The studio's pipeline also features the horror game OD.
