Divine app launches as AI-free Vine revival

The Divine app, a modern take on the original Vine, has launched for iOS and Android with a strict ban on AI-generated content. Co-founder Evan Henshaw-Plath drew inspiration from Vine's authentic short videos, incorporating over 500,000 archived classics. The platform uses proof-mode technology to verify human-created videos.

Divine recreates the 6-second looping video format that made Vine popular around 2014. The app includes classic square videos alongside a vertical mode and basic editing tools like text overlays. Users can access it via the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the website, though some reports indicate invite-only access initially. Old Vine creators such as Lele Pons and JimmyHere have returned, posting new content alongside archived videos from Logan Paul and Nash Grier. Pons said, 'Many of us came from Vine, and it was the beginning of everything. An iconic app. It makes me so happy to see these early classics brought back to life.'
