Ed O'Brien releases new solo song Abbeycwmhir

Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien has released his new solo track Abbeycwmhir digitally. The song was previously available only on limited seven-inch vinyl.

The release came on July 9, two months after O'Brien's second solo album Blue Morpho. The track is named after a village in Powys, Wales, and features layered vocals with ambient guitar elements.

O'Brien discussed the album's creation in recent interviews. He described reconnecting with Welsh nature during the COVID pandemic to address depression and a mid-life crisis.

He is scheduled to tour Blue Morpho in Europe starting in October. Radiohead plans to perform 20 shows annually on different continents beginning in 2027.
