He surpassed Blake Wheeler as the franchise's all-time points leader with his 813th point, a power-play goal against the Nashville Predators on October 18. Scheifele began the season with a six-game point streak (7-3—10) from October 9-20, including goals in five straight (7-0—7), and closed the month with points in four consecutive games (2-6—8). Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes rounded out the honors as third star with a flawless 6-0-0 record, a 1.97 goals-against average and .930 save percentage in six starts. The 24-year-old rookie made at least 30 saves in three games and allowed two or fewer goals in four, becoming the 10th rookie goalie in NHL history to win his first six starts of a season. Dobes ranked first among qualified goaltenders in 5-on-5 save percentage (.959), tied for second in wins (6), third in high-danger save percentage (.918), and fourth in goals-against average (1.97) and save percentage (.930).
