London designer Ellie Misner celebrated her 30th birthday with an intimate launch party for her autumn winter 2026 demi couture collection at Isabel restaurant in Mayfair. Titled “It’s My Birthday, I Can Cry If I Want To,” the event showcased designs inspired by the emotions of a birthday dinner gone wrong. Guests mingled in pieces from the new line while enjoying martinis and a themed menu.
In a low-lit private room at Mayfair’s Isabel restaurant, Ellie Misner unveiled her demi couture collection, which explores the pressures of turning 30 through garments like a hand-embellished dress with a beaded rosé wine stain, unravelling trains, splaying zips, and dessert spoon-laced corsetry. Known for sensual corsetry celebrating all bodies and worn by figures such as Lena Dunham, Raye, and Myha’la, Misner collaborated with designer Amy Rileyhaus on a bespoke mother of pearl bra and teardrop headpiece for the first look portraying the birthday girl herself. Many attendees donned pieces from the line in dusty pinks, golds, sumptuous reds, navy, silk taffetas, heavy satins, and deadstock fabrics including her parents’ curtains. Misner wore a candy-striped dress from the collection, fastened with an oversized bow at the waist. “I wanted it to be much more intimate,” Misner said. “I waited to do this new collection for such a long time, and coming back, as the super elevated version of Ellie Misner, I wanted to do it with all of the people that have supported me.” Guests included designer Anissa Kermiche, wine writer Hannah Crosbie in a backless E.M. gown, Miss Jason, stylist Phoebe Lettice Thompson, and broadcaster ZEZI. They sipped Grey Goose martinis—apple, espresso, and dirty with olives—amid collection pieces on walls and mannequins. The menu offered tuna tartare, chicken and seabass mains, and theatrical tiramisu with a cream waterfall. A QR code linked to a short film of the collection. The evening concluded with Misner blowing out candles on a tiered vanilla cake by Lily Vanilli, draped in grapes. Looking ahead, Misner plans a short break alongside bridal and custom orders.
