The Ministry of Agriculture says regions and city administrations have completed preparations to plant over 800 million seedlings for this year's one-day Green Legacy program.

Yimer Dawud, the ministry's public relations and communication executive, told Fana Digital that officials are working with determination to meet the annual target of planting 8.5 billion seedlings.

The one-day program scheduled for Monday will plant over 800 million seedlings across 291,617 hectares at 10,941 sites. Oromia Region will plant 476.6 million seedlings, Amhara Region 308.7 million, and other regions smaller shares.

Digging of planting holes, georeferencing of sites, and transport of seedlings have been completed. Yimer Dawud called on all Ethiopians to participate in the program.
