In the early hours of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, police, fire services, and ambulances were alerted to a row house in Upplands Väsby following an explosion. Calls came in shortly after midnight, around 23:54, from the Sanda area. The blast occurred outdoors next to the residence, causing damage to the facade but posing no risk of collapse.

– It was some kind of outdoor explosion. There is damage to the facade but no risk of collapse, says Tommy Wållberg, duty officer at the fire service.

Both adults and children were home at the time, but all are physically fine. – There were people home, both adults and children, but no personal injuries occurred, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl to TT. It involves only material damage.

Police have cordoned off a large area around the property. The national bomb squad is on site to examine traces of a suspicious object. A preliminary investigation has been initiated regarding gross endangerment and gross violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods. – Why this particular address was targeted, we don't know; the investigation will show. But we have some theories, says Daniel Wikdahl.
