Fireside Games announces deluxe edition of Hotshots board game

Fireside Games is preparing to launch a deluxe version of its popular cooperative firefighting board game, Hotshots, through a Kickstarter campaign. The new edition will feature enhanced components and expanded content for fans. The campaign is set to begin on April 21.

The original Hotshots game tasks players with assuming the roles of wildfire specialists who must collaborate to combat spreading forest fires. Each participant takes on a unique crew member with specific abilities, rolling dice to attempt tasks that contain the flames. Success hinges on teamwork and strategy; failure allows the fire to expand, raising the tension with every turn. The game concludes with the team either extinguishing the blaze or succumbing to it.

Fireside Games plans to fund the deluxe edition via Kickstarter starting April 21, providing backers with exclusive rewards. This upgraded version introduces LED light-up flame tokens, updated firefighter figurines, connectible tiles, and additional content absent from the initial release. The game targets players aged 10 and older, with sessions typically lasting 45 minutes to one hour.

Justin De Witt, the game's designer and Fireside Games' Chief Creative Officer, commented on the revival: “Hotshots is the game we get the most requests to bring back. Fans love the edge-of-your-seat, high-stakes challenge in the original game, and we’re excited to bring it back bigger and better than ever.”

Those interested in the campaign can visit the pre-launch page at firesidegames.com/pages/hotshots-signup to sign up and receive an exclusive Hotshots badge patch. The announcement highlights ongoing demand for the title among board game enthusiasts.
