Frosts to affect six regions in central-southern Chile

Chile's Meteorological Directorate issued a warning for normal to moderate frosts starting Monday, June 22.

The meteorological warning covers six regions, from Valparaíso to Biobío. The lowest temperatures will concentrate in the Precordillera and interior valleys.

Minimums will range between -1°C and -3°C in valleys and the Coastal Cordillera. In Precordillera zones thermometers will drop to -4°C.

The phenomenon, caused by high pressure, will extend until the morning of Tuesday, June 23. There is a high probability of frost formation in the early hours of both days.

Chile's Meteorological Directorate forecasts normal to moderate winds from Sunday morning April 12 to Tuesday 14 in La Araucanía, Los Lagos, and Aysén due to a cold front. The strongest gusts, up to 100 km/h, are expected in Aysén. Similar winds are also affecting the far north since Saturday.
