Grand Seiko unveils smaller Ushio 300 dive watches

Grand Seiko has introduced two new Evolution 9 Spring Drive divers, the SLGB023 and SLGB025, featuring smaller 40.8mm cases and a new Ultra Fine Accuracy movement. These titanium watches, available in blue and green, offer 300m water resistance and go on sale in June for €12,500 each. The models address long-standing requests for more compact dive watches from the brand.

Grand Seiko revealed the SLGB023 and SLGB025 Ushio 300 divers as updates to its lineup. Both models use High-Intensity Titanium cases measuring 40.8mm in diameter and 12.9mm thick, a reduction from the previous 43.8mm SLGA015 and SLGA023. The cases combine brushed finishes with Zaratsu-polished accents and include a 120-click unidirectional bezel with ceramic inserts matching the dial colors in blue or green. Ushio dials display a rippling-water pattern with a darkening gradient toward the edges, rectangular Lumibrite-filled indexes, and redesigned hands for better legibility in low light. A power reserve indicator sits between 7 and 8 o'clock positions. Powering the watches is the new Spring Drive 9RB1 caliber from the U.F.A. series, delivering ±20 seconds per year accuracy, equivalent to about ±3 seconds per month. This 33-jewel movement measures 30mm across and 4.7mm high, with a 72-hour power reserve. The watches pair with a new High-Intensity Titanium bracelet featuring a brushed clasp, toolless 6mm micro-adjustment, 18mm dive extension, and a Grand Seiko logo locking mechanism. The divers will launch in June priced at €12,500 each, €500 less than their predecessors. Grand Seiko developed these in response to demand for smaller dive watches amid competition in the luxury segment.
