Grief marks memorial service for 15 students of Utumishi Girls

A memorial service for the 15 students who died in a fire at the dormitory of Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil was filled with tears and grief.

The fire that destroyed the school dormitory led to the deaths of the students.

Leaders in attendance included Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, Senators Tabitha Karanja and Edwin Sifuna, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and Education Minister Julius Ogamba.

A sense of despair prevailed during the service held in Nakuru County.
