Hannah Green claimed victory at the JM Eagle LA Championship after a playoff with Jin Hee Im and Sei Young Kim. Im had received a one-stroke penalty for slow play during the third round. The penalty left her tied entering the playoff, which Green won.
Jin Hee Im faced a one-stroke penalty for slow play on the 13th hole during Saturday's third round at El Caballero Country Club. Despite hustling earlier, jogging off the eighth green after a birdie, the infraction was announced during the broadcast on the 17th hole. Golf Channel's Grant Boone noted Im's quick pace then but highlighted the penalty's impact later. The three players finished regulation tied, forcing a playoff on Sunday that Green won. Boone remarked during the playoff, “you go back to yesterday, Jin Hee Im was penalized one stroke for slow play. And you got the butterfly effect in play here — you never know what would have happened had she been one stroke lower entering the day. That stroke certainly does loom large here.” Analyst Morgan Pressel praised Im's bounce-back: “It’s been impressive the way that she’s been able to bounce back after finding out yesterday about that penalty.” Im did not protest the penalty and was not questioned about it after her final round. The LPGA introduced a new pace-of-play policy in February 2025, with one-stroke penalties for exceeding time limits by 6-15 seconds. Officials have not commented further on Im's case. On Monday's Golf Channel, Boone added that by Sunday, “it was over and it was on to golf.”
