Hitachi Energy in Ludvika receives major order for converter stations

Hitachi Energy in Ludvika has been awarded an order for two converter stations valued at approximately 8.5 billion kronor.

The order covers stations to be built in Italy and Tunisia. They form part of the ELMED project that will connect the electricity grids of Europe and Africa with high-voltage direct current between Tunisia and Sicily.

This marks the first time the two continents' grids will be linked in this manner according to the information.
