According to police, the suspect was driving a taxi with a 55-year-old woman as his passenger when he allegedly masturbated during the journey. The passenger noticed his actions while the vehicle was on the Canal Road Flyover and alerted officers upon reaching her destination in Happy Valley.

At the time of his arrest, a police spokesman said the force attached great importance to the conduct of its personnel, stressing that any unlawful behaviour would not be tolerated and would be dealt with seriously. This incident underscores the strict standards applied to law enforcement officers even when off-duty.
