John Mbadi and Simba Arati lead Politrack Africa rankings

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, Kisii Governor Simba Arati, and MPs Babu Owino and Ndindi Nyoro have topped rankings at Politrack Africa’s Starleaders Awards 2026 held in Nairobi today. The awards recognize performance in service delivery, leadership, innovation, and integrity. The announcement comes 16 months before the 2027 general election.

Politrack Africa held its Starleaders Awards 2026 at a premier hotel in Nairobi, evaluating public leaders on core mandate delivery, strategic leadership, innovation, digital transformation, and integrity.

In the Cabinet Secretaries category, John Mbadi and Geoffrey Ruku tied for first place, followed by Kipchumba Murkomen in second and Opiyo Wandayi in third. Among Principal Secretaries, Interior's Raymond Omollo took first, with Sports PS Elisha Mwangi second and Energy's Alex Wachira and Education's Julius Bitok tying for third.

Kisii Governor Simba Arati ranked top among governors, ahead of Kirinyaga's Anne Waiguru and Machakos' Wavinya Ndeti in second. In the National Assembly, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino led, followed by Patrick Makau and Kiharu's Ndindi Nyoro.

Receiving his award, Simba Arati credited improved service delivery and accountability. Babu Owino called it a reflection of people-centred leadership belonging to his constituents. Politrack Africa CEO John Benson urged leaders to adopt real-time data tools like geo-mapping ahead of the 2027 elections.
